Green Toys | Dump Truck {Review & Giveaway}

I’m a huge fan of Green Toys! We support this company 100% because they are doing wonders in reducing their carbon footprint. They offer a great collection of products made in the USA that are created from food-safe recycled milk jugs that save energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions! No more worries about what your little one touches or puts in their mouth with these toys  as they contain no BPA, PVC, phthalates, or external coatings. Green Toys is doing every thing they can to save energy by focusing on transportation cost even when it comes down to packaging!

Today I’ll be reviewing the Green Toys Dump Truck! But first I’d encourage you to check out the other Green Toys products I have reviewed which include a tea set/dishware play set and their Sand Play Set which we brought along with us to the beach on vacation just last week!

The Green Toys Dump Truck is recommended for children ages 1 year and up. I intentionally picked out this dump truck for my son because I know eventually he’ll get plenty of hours of play out of it but right now he’s a little too young for it at 4 1/2 months old. On the other hand, my daughter who just turned three was more than happy to help me out with my review.

This dump truck came just in time to be brought along with us on vacation to the beach! It was a great addition to our Green Toys Sand Play Set and took up practically no space at all with all of our other luggage. No flimsy plastic here, this truck is extremely durable and created also with no metal axles! As a mom I am welcoming that there are no sharp edges for children to get injured on! I also have no worries in my mind that this toy could not be broken very easily. I believe toys need to be able to withstand the roughness of children at play and this one fits the bill!

The Green Toys Dump Truck is fantastic to take along to the beach or the park but it’s also great for indoor use for lugging  those building blocks or whatever else your little one dreams up around! It’s a great toy and I give it five out of five stars! We honestly can’t wait to start collecting the other Green Toy vehicles which include a recycling truck, fire engine, race cars, and more!

Green Toys offers many other wonderful products as well that are all durable, educational, engaging, interactive, and lots of fun! I encourage everyone to check them out!  I’ve been pretty excited about all the new additions such as their recently added table wear collection!

Hexbug Nano Bug Easter Party!

Courtesy of MomSelect, I was able to recently host a Hexbug Nano Easter party to showcase the new limited edition Nano Easter Egg which includes inside a Hexbug Nano available in a variety of colors that comes with a pair of removable bunny ears!

So what is a Hexbug? Basically these little guys are battery operated robotic bugs! The move around in every which away much like real bugs do thanks to vibration in which they output when switched on!

These would be a fun little toy to start collecting for kids of all ages preferably ages 3 and up for safety reasons. Included with each bug is a code in which the owner can register their bug online to learn about science and play fun games! Gotta love toys that are not only fun but educational too!

My husband easily put together one of the Hexbug Habitat sets for the party which you can purchase separately. You can collect them all and make a huge race way for your bugs which is pretty neat!

So how did the kids like them? Well, my kids and their friends were pretty excited about the special addition to the regular Easter eggs this year! They all enjoyed watching and playing with their bugs quite a bit! I found it so cute that my three month old son was quite taken to just watching the bugs skitter and scatter around as well!

A Mom who enjoyed the bugs from our party stated:

The Hexbugs are a hit in our house!  For such a simple design it’s amazing how much they look like real bugs when they’re speeding around.  My 3-year-old daughter thinks they’re the coolest things ever and carries them around in her pocket, letting them out to play now and then.  Oh, and the removable bunny ears are a cute holiday addition.  🙂

Overall we think the Hexbug Nano’s are awesome toys! I am sure kids will love the collect them in a multiple variety of colors with their own special detachable parts and habitats. I think all the different bugs they offer are really cool such as the ant, crab spider, inchworm, and more! Did I mention there’s even glow in the dark ones! These are the only bugs I can pretty much permit in my home! And with that being said, maybe this will keep those rambunctious boys from bringing real ones in!

Schleich Figurines | Farm Life {review & giveaway}

Spring is a season of renewal and growth. A time when every living thing is positively blooming with new life. Help your children, ages 3 and up, celebrate nature’s wonders this spring with an all-new collection of Animal Family figurines from world leader Schleich www.schleich-s.com. Perfect for inspiring imaginative play, Schleich’s figurines are hand-painted, stunningly realistic and designed to stand the test of time.

From wild life families including Water Buffalo and Kudo to more familiar farm life families such as Texas Longhorn Cattle and Pinto Horses, Schleich collections spark young imaginations as children identify with “animal babies” and play with the family groupings.

Our Thoughts…

We were sent a brand new set of Schleich Farm life Animal Families to review as well as a lovely coffee-table book about the history of Schleich titled Anywhere’s a Playground: Schleich 75th Anniversary, by Paul Kraut.

My daughter loves these figurines and we’ve already started a collection for her that we began in December.  Schleich figurines are extremely well made and very appealing to the eye. I even have a few of my own that I’ve grown quite partial too because of certain sentimental value and symbolism that they graciously hold.

If you check out the Schleich website and browse the figurines you’ll notice that each of them have a great description and that’s what makes these figurines more than just fun but educational too! You’ll can learn the Zoological Name, Conservation Status, and Global Home of each animal!

I’ve been enoying the Anywhere’s a Playground: Schleich 75th Anniversary book. It’s great to know how this company got started, how the whole creation process goes for these figurines, and what’s been going on with them for the last 75 years. Definitely worth the read. The full color photos are candy for the eyes and the rich history is soup for the soul. The book retails for $19.99 on amazon.com and barnesandnoble.com

Buy it!

Prices for the figures vary.  You can see Schleich’s growing collection of figures and search for your nearest local retailer on the company’s web site here. I am glad I can easily find these locally and thrilled that they are carried at my favorite hobby store.  Though they also can be found at Toys R Us and Target.

Wild Dill | 25.00 Gift Card {Review and Giveaway}

Wild Dill
is a one stop shop for eco-friendly, fair trade clothing and shoes, fair trade kids furniture,  and organically natural toys of all kinds. This boutique was founded by a mom inspired by her son to start a store “that reflects his sense of curiosity and wonder for everything that is natural and wild.

I was given the opportunity to review a couple of products from Wild Dill for my two children. So the question was what would I review! I found the Wild Dill website very appealing to the eye and extremely easy to navigate for precisely what I had in mind for each child.

Added features to each the products like icons the specified what type of product it was such as fair trade,made in the usa, etc were very nicely added touches. And if you have a favorite specific brand such as Under The Nile you can view all those companies products on their own easily shop-able sub page.For my two month old son, I chose to review the Ecoleeko Inchworm Rattle. This rattle is organic, made in the usa, and handmade so no two are exaclty alike! I love that this toy is made from organic cotton, hemp corduroy, and Non-toxic, hand-dyed and printed bamboo fleece. Ecoleeko is so very soft!

My son loves this little rattle!  The colors are very appealing to little eyes with the multi-colored legs and lime green body and spots. And I believe it would make a wonderful gift for any child! Here’s a video of my son with his inch worm toy!

My daughter Melody has really been enjoying the Clementine Art Modeling Dough I chose to review from Wild Dill. She rather adores crafting just like her mommy so I know the modeling clay would have been the perfect choice to review for her.

Clementine Art Modeling Dough is an absolute favorite her in the Lowmaster residence! This 100% made in the USA, non-toxic clay comes in a pack of three 4 oz. scented tubs in strawberry, lemon, and lime fresh of soft, non-crumbly play dough. The non-crumbly feature is fantastic as it doesn’t make a mess everywhere. And the scent of this clay is really a nice change from other modeling clays and doughs we’ve used.

This fantastic eco-dough is colored with turmeric, carmine and spinach with no chemical dyes or additives! It’s non-toxic, non-staining, smells great, made in the USA, and is good for up to 12 months! What more could you ask for?

My daughter really loves playing with the Clementine Art Modeling Dough. She even prefers it over her other clays and doughs that aren’t quite as soft. This dough is super soft but holds up well enough to mold into whatever my daughters little heart desires. Here’s a video of my daughter playing with her modeling dough!

Overall we are very happy with the products we were able to review from Wild Dill and highly recommend this wonderful boutique. I found pricing to be very affordable and there’s free shipping for all orders over $65.00.
