It’s the first day of Summer Vacation and The Cat in the Hat whisks Nick, Sally and Fish off on the greatest great outdoor camping adventure ever! Our gang gets back to nature as they hike through the Fickle Fern Forest, camp out overnight, trek over Mt. Weewobble and canoe down the Tickle Drop River… just in time for Fish to meet up with his family for a grand reunion. Along for the ride are Little Cats A, B and C, who discover there’s wonder in nature once their electronic devices are powered off! Nick and Sally help keep the Little Cats out of trouble, while Fish tries to keep his jacket pressed and the mud out of his fancy fishbowl… all while getting up close to some of nature’s most awesome sights, and learning how best to respect them. After being lulled to sleep under the stars by a chorus of animals, the morning brings Everyone agrees it really has been the Greatest Great Outdoors Adventure Ever!

The Big Look Bible Book is geared toward babies up to children eight years old though I feel it’s best suited for babies to around age six. It’s moderate board book format meaning the pages aren’t paper but they aren’t really thick board like pages either but somewhere in the middle. The book has your general rectangular outside shape with rounded corners but on the inside, each story features its very own shaped pages. Shaped pages add a fun element to the book, in my opinion.
All Things Bright and Beautiful: Make Believe Ideas by Thomas Nelson is a sweet book. It drew my children and me in right away with its adorable imagery, cheerful colors, and glittery texture dawning not just the cover but all throughout the inner pages. It has a padded cover and even features a handle so little ones can easy carry it along with them wherever they may happen to go.
Since the weather has turned from rainy skies to bright blue skyed sun filled days, I’ve had my eye out for toys that can be used not just indoors but outdoors as well. I’ve particularly been looking for toys for my youngest child that just hit her first birthday almost a month ago. She’s an early walker and has been enjoying toddling all over so toys that can help her dexterity in many ways are fantastic at this point. She’s specifically been having an absolutely good time playing with the Glow in the Dark Sensory Ball from the company Edushape.
