Natural House Cleaning Products: Flushy, Trashy and Sinky!

I’m all about keeping my home environment safe making sure to know what I’m cleaning with in means to prevent use of harmful and or potentially deadly chemicals. I have two kids under the age of four so you can never be to careful as little ones touch everything and babies always put things in their mouth! I’ve also personally had some adverse reactions to other commonly used but not eco-friendly or natural household cleaners that left it hard for me to breath and a little faint for day. And with that being said, I’d like to share my thoughts and point you in the direction of a 30-day supply of Natural House Products called’ Flushy, Trashy and Sinky that were provided to me through the company Natural House.

What makes these cleaners so special? Well for one, Natural House uses probiotic cleaning agents; which are non-toxic and gentle for everyone in your home and they keep working well until your next cleaning session. How awesome is that?

Trashy has been working wonders in our home. First I have to brag on the spray bottle mainly because I like the little lock feature when the product is not in use. I like the fact I don’t how to twist the spray nozzle and get cleaner on my hands. We’ve been using Trashy in our kitchen trash can as well as in our diaper pail. I simply spray the can and the pail and let it sit for a couple of hours and then I wipe it clean after. There’s no more icky smell and with routine use, I’ve totally noticed a huge difference! No more order, only a nice winter green smell that isn’t over the top to my family which is usually very sensitive to certain scents.

Flushy makes cleaning the toilet, ( one of my least favorite tasks) a lot more bearable. Basically to use this, you simply toss one of the flushy foaming pouches into the toilet wait about ten seconds and then follow up with a little scrubbing with your toilet brush. That’s all there is to it! It’s neat because you can see the product noticeably working right away. Flushy cut through stains, hard water and calcium deposits as well as any build up pipes maintaining your septic system. With routine use, the toliet has been kept cleaner and everything seems to be working smoothly.

Sinky is a product for kitchen sink disposals and drain maintenance. I’ve tossed this one into disposal and was delighted with smell (fresh citrus) and how our drain seems to have sped up in letting the water out. I would say it’s totally doing

the job of preventing future clogs and keeping undesirable odors away.

I would recommend all of these products because they get the job done, they are natural, and they are reasonably priced.

Review and Giveaway: Rubbermaid Hidden Recycler

Reducing, Reusing, and Recycling is what we are all about in my home as it’s one of the simplest ways to reduce our carbon foot prints. Being eco-conscience is a must in preserving and caring for the world around us. I’ve been teaching my children the importance of recycling and as a parent, we do our best to purchase and buy products that are earth-friendly, for instance, my children play with sandbox shovels, vehicles, and tea sets that are all made from recycled milk jugs! My daughter was like “Wow, this was a milk jug at one time?”, and is pretty tickled about the whole idea of it.

Speaking of recycling, I’d like to share about one of latest products that we’ve been using in our home kitchen by Rubbermaid called “The Hidden Recycler”. This product is pretty nifty as it attaches to the inside of a cabinet door to collect recyclables out of sight and keeps your counter tops clear!

Reason’s Why I Love This Product…

Simple installation: You can either use screws (not included) or the over the top of the door padded hooks! The over the top hooks are great for my family because we are renting our home and aren’t allowed to screw anything into the wooden cabinets. And seriously, the installation took about five minutes but really maybe less than that.

Quite Roomy: The Hidden Recycler is a 5 gallon bag that can hold up to 36 12-ounce cans and can fit a milk jug. I found that for a small family of four like my own, we can go without dumping the bag for about a week!

Easy to Clean: The bag has a leak-proof liner and is machine washable to make it easy to clean after any unexpected spills. I usually wash out any jugs or cans before putting them in the bag, so I haven’t had to wash it yet!

Convenience: The handle on this bag, allows for it to be easily transported to wherever your recycling is stored for pick-up or transport.

Eco-smart: The bag and all the packaging is made from recyclable material, and is recyclable itself!

Overall Thoughts…

We’ve been using this product for about two weeks now and I’m so thrilled with how it’s holding up. I’m really glad not have an unsightly paper bag sitting beside the garbage cans with our week of recyclables in it. I love the fact that the Hidden Recycler stays safely tucked away and uses the under the counter space in my not so big kitchen wisely. I would highly recommend this great product by Rubbermaid!

Household Traditions Powdered Dishwasher Detergent {review & giveaway}

From the company: Household Traditions Powdered Dishwasher Detergent! is non-toxic and environmentally safe with no harmful by-products upon decomposition. Household Traditions Powdered Dishwasher Detergent rinses away completely leaving no residue on your dishes so you get a clean, safe sparkle.

My Thoughts…

I’m very picky when it comes to the dishwasher detergent I use whether it’s in liquid or powder format.  I’ve had quite a few hit a miss experiences in attempting to get my dishes clean using the dishwasher. Most times I would love to wash my dishes by hand but time just doesn’t permit that as much as I would like it too as a mom of two children under the age of three years old.

Recently I was able to try Household Traditions Powdered Dishwasher Detergent from one of my favorite companies Tropical Traditions. I was sent a super-size five pound container so we are set for a good long while when it comes to washing the dishes in the dishwasher.

The container itself has a basic screw on lid so it’s best even though it’s non-toxic to keep it out of the reach of the kids! A scoop is included in the container to measure out the exact amount that you will need for a load of dishes. In the instructions on the back, suggestions for how to get those harder to clean dishes clean by soaking for X amount of time are mentioned. This is helpful if you’ve cooked a delicious cheese layered casserole or if you left that pot of spaghetti boil a little too long (hey it happens to the best of us) less scrubbing is a plus!

I’ve used this product several times since receiving it and am very happy with the results! This detergents has left no splotchy or cloudy residue on my dishes which is a common problem I’ve had with other cleaners. It also left no strong or even mild smell that often is the case I usually have had. The product does all it claims and it’s safe for my family and the earth around us.

I encourage you to check out the Household Traditions website. They offer all sorts of non toxic cleaners completely free from chlorine bleach, ammonia, petrochemicals, and VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds). You can never be to careful with children around and plus you are doing yourself and the environment a favor by using them too.

Y ou can purchase a 5lb container of Powdered Dishwasher Detergent for reguarly 32.00 but right now it’s on sell for 19.99!

Original Concentrated Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner {review & giveaway}

For over 30 years, Simple Green, has provided customers with non-toxic, biodegradable, environmentally safer cleaning products for household, industrial and institutional applications. They have products for Kitchen & Bath, Kids & Pets, Laundry, Outdoors, Floors & Carpets, Car & Garage and Specialty products.

I was thrilled when I found myself with opportunity to review the Original Simple Green Kit having previously reviewed the entire set of Simple Green Naturals cleaning products as well as their line of Simple Green Pet Products.

What I received to test out and review was a full 32 oz. bottle of CONCENTRATED, non-toxic and biodegradable Simple Green, along with a dilution bottle and tip sheets for use and dilution.

First thing I really love about all Simple Green cleaners as well as the Simple Green Kit which I am reviewing is that it is non-toxic and biodegradable making it a safer alternative to traditional household cleaners. And having anything non-toxic in my house is a must with two little ones under the age of three years old.

All Purpose cleaners save you time and they save you a lot of money. I always love the fact I don’t have to accidentally mix my cleaning supplies and take bottle upon bottle of different things around the house when I’m making a day of cleaning thanks to Simple Green.

So What Can it do?

Simple Green All Purpose Cleaner can be custom diluted to your needs. There’s the option to dilute for heavy or light cleaning. You can even add a bit of this to your laundry to boost your regular detergent and also it makes for a handy stain remover! I have two little kids, so my clothes are always covered with some known and unknown things. This cleaner is a life saver!

It removes grease, oil, carbon, dirt, pet stains, coffee and juice stains, lipstick, food, soil, wet nail polish, soap scum, inks, crayon, blood, smoke, soot, adhesives, chocolate, and much more from any washable, indoor/outdoor household surface.

I can vouch that this cleaner as a great de-greaser. It truly does do wonders for my stove top and my microwave oven. I hardly even have to scrub tough stuck on spots and stains. Oh, how it makes my life so much easier with it’s thoughtful versatility.

The smells of this cleaner is light and not bothersome all compared to other cleaners. I think I saw somewhere that it’s also available in a Lemon scent! I can hardly believe this stuff only retails for about five dollars a bottle!

I’m really thinking about purchasing another dilution bottle or two or three! One for my light cleaning, one for heavy cleaning, and one that’s always on the ready to be my handy stain spot remover for my laundry! I found it a great deal that Simple Green offers 32 oz. Dilution Bottle with Trigger for 1.99 or a 3 pack of 32 oz. bottles for 4.99!

What more could you ask for in a cleaning product? Simple Green is safe, effective, saves you time and money. If you haven’t started Spring cleaning yet, you should really think about picking a bottle or two up!
