My Weekend

Duel of Ages (September 2007)
I had a good labor day weekend, overall. We went up to my husbands parents house for lunch/dinner and games. Lunch was Burgers and deviled eggs and for dinner we had pasta salad (we brought), chicken ( we brought some), and apple pie. Yummy! We played Duel of Ages, parents against the kids and unfortunately us kids lost 3-2. It wasn’t a hurting loss so it’s all good 🙂 Church was good… Jon was preaching again and this time it was about Thirsting for Christ…diving in to God’s everything with no looking back and fully trusting in Him alone. I finished cleaning all those picture frames I got… cut myself across the fingers with the glass on accident so it slightly hurts to draw and type but I can take it…there’s no stopping me.. I said I’d get a card or two done this week for Grandparent’s day and I still intend on it! So mostly, this weekend was spent getting things taken care of… like my husband fixed his break pads and went through his old stuff…

p.s Also it’s my nine month anniversary today \o/

1 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
2 c. blackberries
2 c. boiling water
Cream 1 cup sugar with butter; add flour, baking powder, salt and milk; mix well. Pour into 12 x 8 x 2 inch baking pan. Pour blackberries over batter. Sprinkle remaining sugar over berries. Pour boiling water over top. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes or until golden brown. Serve plain or with cream.

So, my husband and I went for a walk through the park yesterday and we found a plethora of blackberries. I decided that we would would pick enough to make cobbler and voila, it was made and tasted so very very good 🙂

I’ve had to redo my blog because I accidentally broke my other one… oops!
I don’t think I’ll bother creating my own design for this blog since I really like the one that I found!

I’ve got a few ideas ready to go next week for Grandparents day type greeting cards. By far, my illustrations are my favorite thing to do…maybe one day I’ll be compared to people like Lisa Frank, Sanrio, or even Mary Engelbreit. Maybe not compared to them per say but me known that style of work… stationary, calendars, greeting cards and the like sort of designs. That’s what I really prefer… although I do love my Christian t-shirt designs.I hit up Care2 yesterday… they have a thing where select people can have their e-cards featured on their site for free. No payment between either parties but it’s publicity to my site and whatnot.

My husband and I went on a date yesterday evening to celebrate his raise \o/ We went to Bullwinkle’s and played 18 hole mini golf… I got three hole in ones… all that albatross18 is paying off! LOL

We had a nice dinner at Shari’s. I had Country Fried steak w/ white gravy, mashed potatoes, and carrots and my husband had Steak n’s Shrimp with bread and hash browns… yummy ^^ A very enjoyable evening out together
