Simple Green Pet Stain and Odor Remover {review and giveaway}

Just like I have to worry about and treat various stains my daughter may make, I also have to have the right cleaners on hand for our four legged baby too.  This is where I turn to Simple Green Pet Stain and Odor Remover as it is non-toxic, biodegradable, and it is People, Pet and Surface safe!

I had the chance to try both the cat and dog Stain and Odor Remover from Simple Green and both have very different smells. Note that these products works on urine, feces, scent-markings, dirt, blood, and throw up.

How do they work and differ from each other?  First the stain removal component is exactly the same in both cleaners but where they differ is the scent additive.

The Dog Stain and Odor Remover is much stronger smelling than the cat product due to the process of deterring remarking from a dog as they often like to go back and remark the same areas. The cat Stain and Odor Remover smell is not as strong as the dog smell. Both do great jobs in removing unwanted smell and odors after applying and letting it sit for two to three hours.

There was absolutely no discoloration, stains, or odd smells in the carpet after using these products from Simple Green. I would highly recommend them to those looking for an ec0-friendly safe cleaning product for pets.

Simple Green CAT Pet Stain and Odor Remover is available at PetSmart and many other fine retailers.

The Litter Robot {review and giveaway}

Love having a pet cat but don’t want to deal with the mess of cleaning the litter box? Then have I got the Litter Box of your dreams, the Litter Robot!

For the past month or so I’ve been reviewing and using an ECO Unit Litter-Robot which is made from 100% recycled plastic and made right here in the USA. I’ve used another self cleaning litter box and it didn’t come close to pleasing me as much as this one.

Reasons I Like the Litter Robot

The Litter Robot is easy to put together and very easy to clean! It can be run on a schedule or at the push of a button, which is a huge plus!

The cat “business” can be disposed of in ordinary trash bags and the Litter Robot can use clumping litter. There are no special supplies needed as with other self cleaning boxes so no added expenses.
The biggest win for me is that I didn’t have to see, sift, or touch our cats mess!

My cat had no problem whatsoever using this box, she went right in and did her business. I will say that the lip extender reduces a lot of litter from getting on the floor and is a total must.

My only issue is that’s it’s much bigger that your typical litter box so make sure you have lots of space or a room just for your cats that this unit can be placed.

Win it!

Easy Lunch Boxes {review & giveaway}

I like being prepared in life. I find myself more assured when list of things I have to do are written out, checked, and completed. No doubt, becoming a mom has helped me become a more organized person. Just recently, my family and I relocated to a new home and with that being said, my husband no longer can come home for lunch, thus a new task was added to my to do list.

I recently was introduced to mom created company from Mom Made That . The company that has made my life a little easier is Easy Lunch Boxes.com, a company that was created by an every day mom just like you and me looking to reduce her families carbon footprint!

The Easy Lunch Box system is made up of 4 stack able compartmentalized containers with lids and a cooler lunch bag in the color of your choice. I choose to go with the aqua color for my review. All containers are made of non-toxic, BPA-free & phthalate-free plastic, and are refrigerator, freezer, microwave, & dishwasher safe which is something I commonly look for in the containers I use for my family.  In the compartmentalized containers there are three separate areas perfect for a sandwich and two portion size sides. You can easily throw snacks into the cooler, as well as an ice pack and thermos for whomever you may be packing it for!

I must say the Easy Lunch Box system made preparing meals for my husband’s lunch and my mommy and me day play date trips a breeze! I often make a whole weeks worth of lunches for my husband on one day as this saves me so much time! I would most definitely look into getting another set soon for my daughter! I also plan on taking this along with us when we hit the beach this summer!

Buy it: Available for purchase at www.easylunchboxes.com. Four-packs of containers cost $13.95, and the cooler bags are $7.95 each. You can also find some great lunch ideas, recipes, hints, & tips on their website so be sure to stop on by!

Help Save Our Planet on Earth Day’s 40th Anniversary

I’m excited about Scholastic Storybook Treasures newest DVD called He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands … And More Stories to Celebrate the Environment! Released just in time for Earth Day, this DVD has seven great stories in teaching children and parents alike how to be more aware  in caring for the earth around them.

A few of our favorites include He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands which is actually a song not a story. The music is delightful and the illustrations are story book like.  My daughter whom will be two years old next month loves this song as I did and still do. Another one of the stories my daughter really likes on this DVD is the A Boy, a Dog, and a Frog.

I adore all Scholastic Storybook Treasures dvd’s as they include read-along features which is great for children learning to follow along in early reading. I like personally that these stories don’t rock kids out and are very subtle but interesting. Also included in the DVD booklet are some great hints and tips for parents and kids to help save the environment.

I know I’ll be using this DVD in my  home-school curriculum in the future as my daughter gets older.  I highly recommend this DVD not just during Earth Week but for any day of the year.
