VeggieTales I Can Read, The Mess Detectives and the Case of the Lost Temper {Book Review}

The Mess Detectives and The Case of the Lost Temper is one of the many titles from Zonderkidz in the I Can Read Book series. My three and a half year old son and six year old daughter are quite the Veggie Tale fans and liked this story. I was excited about this title because my daughter has been reading much more this Summer and my aim has been to have character building and Christ centered books around that we could read together or all on her very own. The Veggie Tales whether books or the movies never seem to disappoint in teaching about God’s love and how to apply the taught truths to our own lives. Continue reading

I Can Read: The Berenstain Bears God Shows the Way {Book Review}

The Berenstain Bears God Shows the Way is one of the many great titles in the Living Lights I Can Read! series. Having grown up listening to my own mother read other collections of Berenstain Bears books  to me, I for certain was thrilled to learn about this 3 books in 1 title to share with my own children. One of the biggest draws for me to this specific book was the fact that my daughter could not just listen but be able to read it aloud on her very own! Let’s Sew Together Simple Projects the Whole Family Can Make {Book Review}

Let’s Sew Together: Simple Projects the Whole Family can make is a delightful book. The main goal from the author is for a family to sit down together and create something unique. In doing this, you’ll be building long lasting irreplaceable memories. Children will take delight in creating something with their loved ones and no doubt feel quite accomplished with their completed craft. This book is much more than just sewing by any means. Along with the many sewing patterns, there are no-sew projects, painting & drawing, suggested book reading lists, teaching moments, and recipes! Age appropriate tasks for children from ages two to ten years old are given if they aren’t old enough or quite ready to start sewing just yet. Continue reading

God’s Word for Me: Favorite Bible Stories from the International Children’s Bible Review

God’s Word For Me Bible Storybook illustrated by Marijke ten Cate and Compiled by Tana Fortner is unique to us! I’ve come across a lot of Bible Story books for my children but none quite like this. This book takes actual real Bible text from the International Children’s Bible instead of a retelling of common know stories as you would expect. I think this is wonderful because over time, children will remember the stories word for word and be memorizing the Bible as they do!  Continue reading
