Monstrous Maud: Big Fright By A.B. Saddlewick {Book Review}

Monstrous Maud: Big Fright is geared toward middle-grade readers that follows many more books in this fun literary series. Monstrous Maud is an interesting character who walks to the beat of her own drum. Advertised as a great alternative to princess-themed books, I am pleased to introduce the series to my oldest whom tends to prefer the oddball, mysterious, quirky types of characters and stories to the sparkly fashion shopping boy crazy themed titles out there often promoted for girls around her age.

Night of the Living Cuddle Bunnies {Book Review and thoughts by our 9 Year Old)

Night of the Living Cuddle Bunnies
 by Jonathan Rosen is a spooky book full of good humor. The story is about a 12-year-old boy named Devin Dexter whose cousin thinks Devin’s new neighbor is a warlock! Wow!: The Good News in Four Words {Book Review}

Wow! The Good News in Four Words by Dandi Daley Mackall is a great hard-cover picture book! It is geared toward boys and girls ages 3-6 years old. It presents in a simplified way on how to come to know Jesus as their own personal Savior and Lord.

The main four words used are Wow, Uh-oh, Yes, and Ahh. Each word is broken down through the book. The word “Wow” for example demonstrates and explains the creation of the world, the word Uh-Oh shows how sin entered the world and how we became separated from God, you get the picture. The message is powerful and it’s the most simplified version of the gospel I’ve seen for children in this age range.

My Great Big God {Book Review}

My Great Big God is a nice Bible story board-book offering for young children. There are twenty stories total taken from both the Old and New Testament of the Bible. The stories are easy to grasp for young children as they are written simply. The rhyming format also makes the stories easier to read for the and for kids to remember and pay attention to.

Each story features a title, scripture reference ( you can read the entire story from the Bible if you want to), a simplified retelling, and an important attribute of God to remember. A few examples of the attributes pointed out are “My Great Big God has a plan for me”, saves the day, gave us Jesus, makes big things happen, and so forth.
