I had to share this video of Melody! Is not the laughter of a child the most precious thing? How innocent as well! I once read somewhere that the laughter of children will resonate with cheer an hope for us all.

Some of the signs of symtoms of Roseola are:

Infants and toddlers routinely will develop sudden symptoms with a sudden high fever that lasts for three to five days, irritability, bulging “soft spot” on the head (fontanel), swollen glands in the front or back of the neck, runny nose, puffy eyelids (due to swelling with fluid), and mild diarrhea. Within 12-24 hours of the fever breaking, a rash rapidly appears. Older children who develop HHV-6 (or HHV-7) infection are more likely to have an illness characterized by several days of high fever and possibly a runny nose and/or diarrhea. Older children less commonly develop a rash as the fever abates.

Melody seems to be getting better but she is still pretty tired and to top it all off she also has another tooth coming in. She hasn’t been the happiest camper lately but can you blame her? I just hope my little girl gets better soon.

Her not feeling well has put me behind on reviewing and other things but family comes first

From birth to date this is Melody’s height and weight growth chart. I created this in Excel tonight because I wanted to post it on her blog. Yes, she’s below average…a teenie tiny petite thing but healthy none the less.

Melody had a nice first birthday! We spent the afternoon at the local water gardens, the park, and then later opened gifts from mommy and daddy as well as gifts from Grandpa and Grammy.

We had her party three days before her actual birthday. She had an okay time as she came down with a bad case of hay fever. Bless her heart. She had a total of 10 people celebrate her turning point in life. No longer a baby but a full fledged toddler!

Just this week to celebrate her turning 11 months old, we went up to the The Wooden Shoe Tulip farm and she just loved it! She enjoyed walking about in the rows, sliding down the bumpy slide with daddy, and posing for mommy and grandma! I think the most fun photos we got of her is when we decided to put her into the giant wooden clogs!  We had a few bystanders take  photos of her… Paparazzi already!

As the days grow closer to her first birthday, I’ll be busy working on birth to 1 year scrapbook. It brings a tear to my eye to see how fast she has really grown up already. She’s so brave and independent. I’ll miss those days when she was tiny and we would stare at each other face to face for hours. But in all things  each day ahead brings new joys.  Nothing compares to being a mom and a teacher.  I feel like if I blink I’ll miss something or wake up and she’ll be 5!

Time does pass ever so quickly so enjoy the little time you have with your children. I know I will be.

My daughter got into the Easter egg that had chocolate in it! I didn’t’ think she’d be able to get it open and then I look away for a minute or two while making lunch and she’s covered in chocolate and quite thrilled about it as you can see from the photo. I guess we can say she’s a fan.

The Hip Carry

Yes, I’m a baby wearing mommy and I love it! I’ve been wearing my baby from when she was was first born till now! I greatly encourage every mommy or daddy to wear their baby! Some great benefits I’ve found from doing this is that it’s great for your little one, it reminds your baby of being in the womb from the moving and being next to mommy! Being born can naturally be stressful for your little one so keeping your baby snugly and close is great for him or her. Doing this, also is a great way to share family bonding and nurturing with Daddy! My husband loves wearing our daughter and never objects!

The Back Carry Position

Baby wearing is also known to decrease crying and fussiness, as well as increase learning. I can attest to this as my little girl is one of the happiest little babies that you’ll ever meet! She is super observant and very smart…already walking at nine months! She watches everything around her. Her needs are met very quickly as well and though she likes being with mommy, she is also very independent. She’s quite a secure, settled, considerate, sociable, cooperative, adaptable, affectionate little girl

Wearing your baby gives you exercise! I lost all my pregnancy weight very quickly after my daughter was born. I did go for a five mile hike about two months after I gave birth (yes, I’m crazy). I’m going to say that wearing my child helped with that along with breastfeeding ( you can also can do this very easily in a sling).

My daughter even now that’s she’s older, loves being in the sling as you can see from my photos. I’m wearing a great sling that I won from Rockin’ Baby Sling.com. These great slings are reversible so we can coordinate with what we are wearing…lol. At least, that’s what I do. They are also easy to clean, just throw it in the wash with everything else.

These are great if you want to take a walk on the beach without your stroller. ( I forgot my sling when we went and the stroller started sinking and was incredibly hard to push…lol) You live you learn! These really are great to take anywhere and they go up to 40lbs. My daughter is only 15lbs right now so we will be using our pouch for quite a bit more time

I recommend you do your research before buying a sling as there are many types and styles to choose from!

Melody turned nine month old today so it’s time for a recap of her life as a eight month old!

Church Nursery-I’ve finally let her go to the church nursery while I attend church! This was so hard for me to do but it’s good for her and I’m glad she seems to enjoy it.

Helping Mommy Review- Melody has been a great product tester helping me review lots of great products/

Pushing grocery cart toy around- Melody is getting better and better at walking, pretty soon I’m sure she’ll build up the confidence to not hold onto anything and walk on her own!

Taking a bath in the the big tub- She has been promoted to the big people tub.

She started wearing your 1st pair of shoes- I bought Melody some great first shoes from ShooShoo’s.

eating #3 foods -Melody has also graduated to newer foods and graduates snacks.

Getting better at self feeding! -She’s getting better at self feeding though she still wears most of her dinner as you can see in the picture above.

I’ve decided to now do a recap of my daughters months as of the last! She’s growing up and changing a lot! Here we go:

Melody got her first wings! She flew with Mommy and Daddy to see her Grandparents and Aunties all the way from Oregon to Georgia! She was so good on trip and that made us very proud of her!

Melody started wearing cloth diapers! I’m already teaching her what it means to be good to the environment she lives in.

Her two top teeth have come in! She’s very good so far with teething, hardly makes any fuss! Get a nifty teeth chart for your records here!

She caught her first cold! She was very snotty but in good spirits until it went away after a week.

She was introduced to puffs and she eats them like candy.
