6 Weeks

My little Melody is growing like a weed! I’ve went back and compared pictures and all I will say is that they grow too fast! Well, I’m going to go ahead and put away her newborn clothes because she’s pretty much out grown them all! That’s a good thing because it means she’s on track and she’s a healthy little girl despite her thyroid, I think.  Yeah, we still have the specialist appointment come next month and then she’s got  her two month visit the end of this month.

Melody has been smiling more and making coos on occasion. She’s been rather needy this week so it’s been hard for me to get much done…let alone eat :P If anything, I’ll blame it on her busy weekend as it threw her out of her schedule but it’ll do that with anyone…won’t it?

…and as I was writing this, Melody had one of those huge blow outs in her diapers… you know the ones that don’t stay in the diaper! Very very icky to clean up! Just another day of being a Mom!

5 weeks old

Melody is five weeks old today and she’s doing just wonderfully. She likes to smile at mommy, she hasn’t at Daddy quite yet. She spends lots of time with me and she likes when I give her kisses all over…that makes her smile and coo at me :) I’ve been lucky to get a few pictures of her smiling too!

Melody has been having a lot of gas… Gas makes her very sad too! I’ve tried using gripe water and not really sure if that is helping or not… I may try Mylicon since a lot of people have recommended since it worked for their baby.

Melody, Mommy, and Daddy have been trying to go on walks everyday or least every other. Melody usually just sleeps through our walks but I guess that’s fine because the repetitive movement calms her. I am sure as she gets old, she’ll start looking around more when we are outside.

On the fourth, we are going to the beach, it’ll be mine and Melody’s first time to the beach… well a first for me seeing the west coast… I know what east coast beaches are like! So, we are looking forward to that quite a bit… I wonder how Melody will do with the long car ride. I am guessing she might sleep the whole time but we’ll see!
