Crafty Friday: An Added Bow and Autumn Themed Clips

This week I made a few more alligator hair clips and this go around, I tried my hand at adding a little bow with a crystal embellishment to the top. I have to say it came out a lot better than I expected! And with that being the case, I can’t wait to try to create more!

I’m not quite ready to open an Etsy store yet for my hair accessories because I want to build up a bigger collection first but I am willing to sell a few by word of mouth or by means of my blog. If you are interested in the sets pictured below, feel free to e-mail me and we’ll set something up!

Note that these Autumn themed alligator clips are 1 3/4″ long and are covered quality grosgrain ribbon. The ribbon is treated with heat so there will not be any fraying. These sets include 2 clips for 2.50! You can contact me at ellybean (at) connected2christ dot com, if interested.

Sue Berk Designs {review and giveaway}

Inspired by Sue Berk’s daughter Rachael, who was born with arthrogryposis and spent 8 weeks in the NICU, our blankets are very soft and cozy and incorporate messages that make both baby and parent feel good.

Being pregnant with my second child, I’m so happy that I happened across Sue Berk Designs. Sue offers a variety of gifts that are perfect for the latest little bundle of joy in your life whether you are looking for something to spruce up the nursery or wrap your baby in!

I was given the opportunity to review one of Sue’s blue minky dot and satin fabric  receiving blankets for my new baby.  This blanket, approximately 28 inches by 33 inches in size,  is extremely soft to the touch and would be soothing to any babies skin.

Embroidered on my blanket is the scripture ” Angels Watching Over Me” Psalm 91:11.  Note that there are also three other scriptures to have added to whichever blanket you may purchase.

I also found that I don’t have to worry about my blanket in the wash, it was easy to dry as well and came out feeling just as cozy and warm and when it went in.

This month, Sue Berk Designs just released a brand new Coco Collection of blankets and blankies! This blankets are rich in color and feature the same scriptures as the blanket I reviewed. Blankets comes in either pink or blue and each includes an organza ribbon just perfect for gifting!

The variety of blankets, hand painted and lead free picture frames and crosses would make extremely special baby shower gifts, in my opinion! I encourage you to check these great gifts out for yourself at: http://www.sueberkdesigns.com/

My Thoughts

The Hands-On Bible will bring joy and delight from both boys and girls. This is one cool Bible that I wish was around when I was growing up! This Bible is more than just a Bible as it includes a huge variety of activities, crafts, fun facts, science projects,  and many more great things that are sure to get your child to engage! I love all the extra content added as I know it’ll impact kids to learn even more about the Word of God as they take each of the extra activities pertaining to the lesson to heart.  Also, this Bible would be fantastic for family Bible time, as it can get the whole family to come together in learning about our God and savior!

To this date, I have found that the New Living Translation of the Word one of the easiest to read so I praise this Bible for sticking with this version for kids.  This Bible is packed full of so much information from how to use the Bible, to understanding and living the truths told, key verses to apply and take to heart, Biblical character bios, dictionary/concordance,  full color maps, and so much more!
