Made for This 40 Days to Living Your Purpose {Book Review}

Recognize your calling, find your place of service, and follow God to a life of purpose.

In Made for This 40 Days to Living Your Purpose by author Jennie Allen readers are challenged to look beyond safe and comfortable and to throw all caution to the wind. Jennie points us to living a full God filled and directed life and resting in the peace and comfort of the purpose God has called us too.

This book is in a 40 day devotional format that’s broken down into four parts. The parts each are focused on a specific things which are as follows; The Prayer, The Call, The Threads, and The Future. Aside from those sections there is an introduction, how to find God, acknowledgments, notes and an about the author section.

The devotions start with a title ( some are questions and others are statements), scripture verse, devotional reading which is broken down into about three sections/thoughts, Respond and in ending Read and Reflect. Reading and responding for each day I feel will roughly take about 20-30 minutes of time.

I am pleased with all the questions pertaining to each reading. There is space for writing in the book for recording your pondering. The areas for response are a little small so I would recommend having a notebook or journal to use while going through this title.

While going through this book I got a fresh look at specific topics of the heart. The questions challenged me to dig deep looking at all he’s blessed me with and how I am using those gifts to serve in pointing others toward the kingdom. It’s not what you get but more about what you give. Sometimes before going forward we have to unpack the past and I feel the author helped readers do this gracefully full of love and care in her every written word.

This book is great and if looking for fresh perspective which strongly permeates a sister friend to friend type approach, this book is it. Encouragement, conviction and inspiration await, highest of recommendations.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review from BookLookBloggers.
