A Night Of Great Joy By Mary Engelbreit {Christmas Book Review}

Mary Engelbreit’s book A Night of Great Joy is a depiction of the story of the night that Jesus came into our world. The story is illustrated beautifully in the form of a play with children acting out the parts of Mary, Joseph, the Wise Men, Shepherds, Animals, Angles and so forth.  I really appreciate the different Christmas pageant re-telling to the birth of Christ.  All the characters and important bits to remember from this story are covered.

It’s an easy to read aloud book to the children and they always stay captivated by the cheerful images on every turned page. I love reading this book to my children but am pleased that my oldest ( 8 years old) daughter will pick this up to read to her younger brother and sister. I appreciate the including of the scripture verse at the beginning of the book. The costumes on the characters are adorable and inspiring!

Overall, Mary has done a wonderful job creating a book that not only children will fall in love with but adults too (especially those that are fans of her work). This book is delightful and will likely be housed under our Christmas Tree or on the coffee table to enjoy during the Holiday season.
