The Garden of Eden: Beautiful Bible Scenes to Color and Inspire coloring book by Zondervan has been a delight to color. This coloring book features Bible Verses and beautifully inspired Biblical scenes to remind us of the majestic and wonderful creation of our world. Perfect for those of all ages and coloring skill levels this is a great pick to delve into during those much needed quiet moments in life all should take for proper rest and rejuvenation.
The illustration to color in this book takes verses from Genesis chapter one through chapter three. So, there’s the beginning of creation to when Adam and Eve are banished from the garden. Each page features a different scripture verse to go with it. There’s illustrations of sea life, flowers, insects, birds, planets, Adam, Eve, and so forth to color.
Most of the pictures are full page spread but there are some that are single too. The pages are sturdy but I wouldn’t recommend using something like watercolor or markers on them. I say this because there are illustrations printed on both sides of the page. So if something was just too wet an art medium, it likely would bleed to the other side.
The level of skill for coloring in this book is wide. There are some very simple illustrations with large areas to color and some that are more finely detailed. There are eighty pages in this book and a little more than forty different pictures to color.
I prefer using colored pencils to color in this book as they blend well and I don’t have to worry about anything bleeding through. The pictures I like the best are the birds, flowers, and oceans scenes.
I feel this is a lovely book to use if studying creation whether at church, school, or home. It makes one stop to smell the roses and remember to look around at the beauty of this place we call home.
