The Adventure Bible God’s Great Creation is great book that children can read on their own or with just a bit of help. My six year old daughter is eager to learn more about the Bible and this particular reader has made that simpler to do. She was able to read this level 2 I can Read selection through with very little help from me. I’ve caught her reading it numerous times over the week and she’s priding herself in knowing the order of which God created the world, the animals, night, day, elements, people in it, and so forth. I really like that this story doesn’t leave out any important details. I was excited to learn that this book covered not just the creation but the fall of man as well.
In this reader there are 32 pages. Every page features well done illustrations that aren’t goofy or over the top. The story isn’t wordy and it’s straight to the point. The words are pretty easy to read for a child and only recall my daughter needing help with two or three. At the end of the book there’s a page that a page that features People in Bible Time with a short bit of information about Adam and Eve, there’s a Bible verse and an area called Words to Treasure which talks about the story just read and reminds us of God’s love for us!
I would recommend this book! It’s a great way for a child to learn about the Bible that’s on their level. The illustrations are appealing and add well to the story and the bit at the end is a great reminder of what was just read. Great when read alone or with the family! An excellent prompt for conversations about God’s love and how our world began!
