The Christian Mama’s Guide to Parenting a Toddler by Erin Macpherson is a guide to things you’ll probably encounter and need to know while parenting any toddler! This writer also a blogger, is honest, humorous, and pretty straight forward about her own parenting methods. And while I don’t completely agree with all her methods, I still think this book is worth the read for most of the practical advice she offers.
In total, there are sixteen chapters. Chapters cover a large number of the topics and issues such as toddler discipline, handling tantrums, getting your kid to eat, taming those sleeping issues, potty training, learning and growing with your toddler, reinventing date night, and so much more!
I really loved how there are prayer examples in the Time Out for Mom area of each chapter to pray and Bible verses that totally should be in the heart and mind of every mother. I’m totally thinking about going back through the book, highlighting these verses, and then jotting them down, printing, and posting were I can see them everyday. This Mom thing can be tough and it’s really only through the Grace of God that we can survive it. And just knowing we aren’t the only one going through the same things is a huge help too.
Whether you are a stay at home mom or a work away from home Mom, this book is ideal for either! It’s a breath of fresh air from a mom that embraces the practicality in life, the humor in whatever the circumstance, and the grace and love of our God and Saviour.
