When the World Was New Music Album (review)
On May 14th, the latest family album from Grammy award-winning producer Dean Jones is being released! This album is called When the World was New and it’s not be missed. Guest musicians include Shamsi Ruhe, Morgan Taylor (Gustafer Yellowgold), Rachel Loshak, Marianne Tasick (Sweet Clementines), Jeremy Mage, and Eli McNamara.
There are 12 songs total that talk about everything from the word Absurd, Snail Mail, Human Beans, Making Friends, and Standing by Others. My kids seemed to like this album and I personally liked how fun and heartfelt the album was.I found the lyrics to be clever and totally on the level most kids will understand, relate too and enjoy! Parents probably will like this one too!
The songs feature synthesizers and tunes that are funky, catchy, and a little different than most kids music I’ve head. One of the songs even to me sounded a bit like hotel lobby or elevator music! The more you listen to the album, the larger the chance you’ll be looking for this one to play over and over again. As a knitter, I have to point out how much I like the album cover too!
When the World Was New will be available from various retailers, including CDBaby, BigKids.com and www.dogonfleas.com ($12.97 CD/$9.99 digital).
Be sure to check out the video of the song “Snail Mail” that can be found on this album!
