Review: Nordic Ware Braiser

I’ve been telling my friends after welcoming the Nordic Ware Pro Cast Traditions Cookware Braiser Pan into my home that they all must have one. In fact, I believe no kitchen of anyone that adores cooking should be without it. If looking to match current kitchen style and decor, no problems should be had because it’s offered in slate, midnight blue, and my favorite splash of color to my kitchen “Cranberry”.

The reasons why I adore the product are many and personally I can’t think of a single thing I dislike other than maybe the price. But honestly if you want a good quality product you need to be willing to put a little more into it. And quite frankly after seeing the regular price and then the price Amazon.com has it for, it’s a real deal.

The Nordic ware’s braiser pan is designed for sautéing or browning vegetables, poultry, beef, fish, and other foods. I have thus far used it for fish, chicken, vegetables, and my breakfast eggs and everything has come out wonderfully! The pan itself is made from cast aluminum which is regarded as the material of choice for even temperatures, controlled cooking, and durability. I typically tend to use regular cast iron for everything but am being swayed to use this pan more often. I don’t have to season this pan like regular cast iron and I’m really loving how light it is compared to other pans I own. I have very weak wrist so I’m suggesting that anyone that may as well really think about purchasing this pan or others like it.  

I like that the self basting lid of this pan is designed to keep your food from drying out. There are divits on the top that cause the moisture from whatever you are cooking to fall back into the pan instead of all over the stove top when you lift it from whatever is cooking. If you were wondering, this pan not only can be used on the stove top but inside the oven up to 425 degrees. And whether on the stove or in the oven, make sure to use proper hand protection because the handles get hot!

Clean up is cinch with the non-stick coating. Just be sure not to put it in the dishwasher and you’ll keep the life of the pan going for much longer. It’s honestly really nice that you don’t have to season the pan after so many uses as well. And just because of this, I’ve been using this pan almost daily!

I overall highly recommend this product. Its proudly made in the USA with a 25 year limited lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. I don’t know anyone that wouldn’t love to have one of these. The pros are wonderful and I’m seriously considering getting some other products as well from this company!
