Book Review: Bringing Up Girls by Dr. James Dobson

I’ll say right off the bat that Dr. James Dobson’s book Bringing Up Girls is a must have if you are a parent (mom or dad) or care giver of a girl of any age. This title has spoken many truths and gives practical God ordained advice and biblical references. I feel this book can quite literally change a generation if  people are willing to open their hearts and seek fully after God in training our daughters in the way they should go.

There are twenty-two chapters in Bringing Up Girls. The chapters  found cover numerous issues and topics such as the importance of fathers, culture and how it affects girls, puberty and adolescence, teaching your girls to be ladies, personal appearance, and much more. I liked that there were personal testimonies, q &a, from girls from many different types of life styles. There are lots of facts in this title and also plenty of statistics talking about the issues that can be found in todays society.

Overall, I enjoyed this title and felt like I could apply it even to parenting my four year old daughter. The same facts and truths pretty much apply to girls of all ages. I was so impressed with this book that I plan on purchasing Bringing up Boys soon.
