My baby boy is now two months old and I can’t help but think how time seems to be flying. Before I know it, he’ll be ready to start eating solid foods. As with my whole family, I want the best possible nutrition for my baby, and one way to ensure that is by making and preparing my own baby food for him.
I started making baby food for my daughter when she was a baby but I never did as much as I wanted too. I found myself cutting corners far often that not. I would feel so bad when we gave her mixed baby food only to not realize there was something in it that caused her to have a reaction such as peas. Those combination meals will get you sometimes. Another thing about store bought baby food is that it’s really expensive! Making your own saves you so much money.
I remember before as a new mommy, I really didn’t know where to start when making food! I would search online for advice but never really keep up with it all! There are important things to know like how long should you freeze certain foods for, what combination’s of food work best together, which foods should be introduced when, and more!
I recently was given the opportunity to review a kit that makes preparing food for you baby a cinch called Fresh Baby’s So Easy Baby Food Kit! It includes a Cookbook, Freezer Tray, How To DVD and Nutritional Card.
This kit is must have for parents who are interested in making baby food! The cookbook that’s included has lots of great recipes & serving suggestions that is organized by the age of baby. You can really personally the book for your baby as there’s a section that has where you can write what your baby liked, disliked and had an allergic reaction to! There is also a great picture and notes area in the front for capturing your baby’s firsts.
I sat down and watched the DVD and really enjoyed the step by step instructional process on how to make and prepare food for baby. The nutritional tip card which now hangs happily on my fridge has a lot of great information on the best nutrients, introducing foods by age list, what to do if your baby is choking, and more!
The trays that are included in the kit are basically just like ice trays but for baby food. They each have lids so your cubes can freeze easily before you transfer your food cubes into something else. The trays are designed to store pre-portioned one ounce servings for your baby. These are BPA free and dishwasher safe. I can easily still see myself using these trays for my own cooking needs long after using them for baby.
This is the perfect kit to get you started in making your own baby food in as little as taking 30 minutes of time a week. Be overwhelmed no more! I can’t wait to start fully using this kit for my baby boy soon!
